Meet Rachel

I’m digital SLR enthusiast, which is camera-marketing-speak for “person who does not get paid money to take pictures.”  I’m also a mother, wife and dog lover.  I don’t get paid for any of that either.  (Fortunately, I do get paid a little to be a science grad student.)

I take photographs because they’re there.  They never stop happening.  I try to capture them.  Mostly, I fail.  Pictures whiz by, unrecorded.  But sometimes, I get lucky with something worth sharing.  That’s what this blog is about.

Ike and Juno - Tamron 90mm Macro f/3.5

This is one of my favorite pictures.  I took over 100 shots of this set-up.  (Ike was about 6 months old, so he couldn’t crawl away.  That helped enormously.)  But the thrill of getting a good shot was worth all the duds and then some.  That’s why I love photography.  When it’s good, it’s really good.

Another of my favorites - Washington National Cathedral - Pentax 50-200mm at 58mm f/4.5

What kind of dog do you have? Looks very very similar to ours! 🙂 Great shots btw!

Nice to meet you, Rachel! A fellow Pentax user too, no less! So exciting 🙂
Thanks for your comment on my Sweet Shot Tuesday post. The gator isn’t a puppet, but it would be fun if it was!! It’s by GUND, though. Jack l-o-v-e-s it! Take care – great shots, btw! I’ll be back to visit, for sure.
